Local Tech Prodigies Shine at Regionals

In a display of innovation and creativity, young tech enthusiasts from the Hancock County School District showcased their skills at the annual Regional Technology Fairs held on February 1st and 2nd. The events, which drew participants from various schools, featured competitions in a range of tech-related categories, including 3D Modeling, Animation, Audio Production, Digital Photo Production, Graphic Design and Video Production.

De’Zaynia Brown represented Hancock Central High School, and Malaki Grier, Kameron Dixon, Shiloh Brown, Cassidy Mew, Raziyah Nash, Neviah Wilson, Kaysen Scott, Shaniyah Davis, Haley Tucker, Darius Reynolds, Ra’Kayla Redd, Kennedi Heath, Kelise Robbins, Che’Nieya Primas, and Jackson Clark represented Hancock Central Middle School.  

Among the standout winners were De’Zaynia Brown, Malaki Grier, Kameron Dixon, Shiloh Brown, Cassidy Mew, Raziyah Nash, Neviah Wilson, Kaysen Scott, Shaniyah Davis, Haley Tucker, Darius Reynolds, Che’Nieya Primas, and Jackson Clark who all secured top spots in their respective categories.

In the 3D Modeling category for Grades 7 & 8, Malaki Grier impressed the judges and clinched the 2nd Place position, while Kameron Dixon wowed the audience with his Animation skills, also securing 2nd Place in the same grade category.

In the Audio Production category, showcasing their talent and technical prowess, Shiloh Brown and Cassidy Mew collaborated on a podcast to secure 2nd Place.

Digital Photo Production saw remarkable talent from both Grades 5-6 and Grades 7-8. Raziyah Nash and Neviah Wilson took home the 1st Place prize for the former with their “Ready for a Break” photo, with Kaysen Scott securing 2nd Place with his “No Parachute” photo. Shaniyah Davis and Haley Tucker captured the essence of 1st Place in the latter category with their “Beauty & Brains” photo, while Darius Reynolds earned a well-deserved 2nd Place with his “Epic Skydiving” photo.

In the Video Production category for Grades 7-8, Che’Nieya Primas emerged victorious with an outstanding 1st Place with her “Motivation Monday” video, while Jackson Clark showcased his editing skills with his “Stop the Gun Violence Video” to secure 2nd Place.

Also, in the Video Production category for Grades 9-10, De’Zaynia Brown secured second place with her “Motherlike Superintendent” video.

The events not only highlighted the technological aptitude of the participating students but also emphasized the importance of fostering innovation and creativity from a young age. With such promising talent on display, the future of technology appears to be in capable hands.
